Who needs fuel?

The battle of the rusty lines continue. After replacing the brake lines, the fuel lines decided to blow last night while out for a ride. Luckily my buddy Jay hooked me up with a ride. The car had to me towed home. I hate rust. New lines will be installed in the coming weeks.

Ready for the road.

Yesterday I put the new rear brake line in from under the hood to the rear end and installed a new cat-back exhaust system. The cat-back is a complete stainless steel kit from Pypes. Im very satisfied with the quality, sound, fit, and finish of this kit especially for the price. The kit was only $330 shipped. Not bad for all stainless with polished tails.

After getting it back together I gave the interior a good cleaning and took it to the car wash. I don't think I have ever seen so much tree stuff come out of all window trim. Car already looks different. I removed all the parking stickers and the mud flaps.

Here is a clip of the exhaust... quality isn't great since it's on a digi-cam. Exhaust sound clip

Some Goodies

The cat back will be deliverd today. I have a line on a complete rear with disc from a 94 GT. Also a new hatch in the correct color. Once this cold weather breaks the cat back will be going on and the break line will be fixed.

The Beginning

It's been 4 years since I had a Mustang. In 2002 I sold my 12 second 85 GT and purchased a new 2002GT. I sold the 02GT in 2003. My life has changed quite a bit since then and I began looking for a new project with my wife. Luckily I stumbled upon a great deal from a friend. On Feb 25th I picked up a 1993 Wild Straweberry 5.0 LX 5 speed with grey interior. The interior is pretty clean but needs a few things. The body needs a hatch and both front fenders due to rust. The motor runs stong with 169k on the clock.

The rust has already began to battle me. Since having it a short time, one of the tail pipes rotted off. While taking the tail pipe out to drive it home I ruptured the passenger rear brake line. I was swapping out the brake line and the threads snapped in the wheel cylinder so I had to put a new one those in. Once that was done I was bleeding the brakes with my dad and the main line from the front to the back blew. I ended up crimping the line and making it home on the front brakes.

Future plans so far include... new fenders and hatch and off to the body shop for a paint job. 5 lug conversion with 94-95 discs up front and in the rear. Long tube headers, catted X-pipe, and I have already ordered a full Stainless Steal cat back system by Pypes. Once its looking good and running solid then the usual Mustang goodies will come.... heads, intake, cam, gears, frame connectors, and so on.
